I wanted to make a snuggly lap blanket for my Mom who is always cold. She's on her third round of chemo and I have no idea what it's done to her natural body temperature. I saw this yarn at a local wool shop. It's Alpaca in super chunky weight and it's the softest yarn you ever felt. Perfect for an under the weather cold Mama.
I did large granny squares with 2 rows of double crochet for the edging. The yarn has a lot of flex so the edges got a little crinkled (oh well!) It's sitting on a queen bed below which gives you an idea of the size- large enough to really snuggle under when knitting or reading.
Can't wait to give it to her for her birthday later this month!
