Today was the last day my small man and I will spend alone together for a while. Wednesday is our special day but as of next week he will be in big school. The transition to school is proving a bit bumpy for him. His pre-school is right next door to the new entrants big school classroom but it may as well be be a world away. He's been doing school visits and is very stressed afterwards. Yesterday he was physically sick when he came back into pre-school and last night had a series of meltdown. Change is not easy for this little one.
So today was easy and relaxed. Playing and coffee with me. No talk of his birthday and big school next week. Just what we both needed.
